HOA Committee Job Duties
Communication & Welcome Committee
• Greet and onboard new residents with welcome packets and essential community information.
• Serve as a liaison between the HOA board and residents, ensuring clear and timely communication.
• Create and distribute newsletters, email updates, and community announcements.
• Assist in organizing town halls or Q&A sessions to address resident concerns.
• Encourage resident engagement and feedback.
Financial/Budget Committee
• Assist the HOA board in preparing and managing the annual budget.
• Review financial reports, assess expenditures, and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Oversee dues collection and recommend strategies for handling delinquent accounts.
• Ensure financial transparency by preparing reports for residents.
• Work with accountants or auditors to maintain financial compliance.
Local/State Government Committee
• Monitor local and state government activities that may impact the community.
• Advocate for the community’s interests by attending city or county meetings.
• Inform residents and the board about new laws, zoning changes, or infrastructure projects.
• Build relationships with local officials and represent the HOA in government discussions.
• Organize voter registration drives or informational sessions on key legislative issues.
Social Events Committee
• Plan and coordinate community events such as holiday parties, block parties, and seasonal celebrations.
• Organize activities to foster a sense of community among residents.
• Work within the budget allocated for social events and seek sponsorships if needed.
• Promote events through flyers, emails, and social media.
• Gather feedback from residents to improve future events.
Website/Social Media Committee
• Maintain and update the HOA website with current events, documents, and announcements.
• Manage social media pages to keep residents informed and engaged.
• Respond to resident inquiries or direct them to the appropriate HOA contact.
• Ensure that all online content aligns with HOA rules and policies.
• Work with the Communications Committee to ensure consistency in messaging.
Architectural Review & Landscaping Committee
• Review and approve/deny homeowner requests for exterior modifications (paint colors, fences, additions, etc.).
• Ensure all changes comply with HOA guidelines and community aesthetics.
• Work with landscaping vendors to maintain common areas, parks, and entrances.
• Address resident concerns regarding property appearance and maintenance.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with HOA standards.
